Apply for Funding
The Dog Rehoming Project will provide funding worldwide to support research pertaining to shelter dogs (Canis lupus familiaris), dog rehoming, and related topics.
The scope of research proposals that will be accepted for funding consideration are:
Research that aims to improve the welfare of dogs pre-adoption that are part of shelters or rehoming organizations
Research that aims to improve the success of shelter or rehoming organization dog placements (i.e. post-adoption success)
Research that aims to improve the efficiency of shelter or rehoming organizations’ rehoming policies and procedures
Research that aims to decrease the number of dogs relinquished to shelters or rehoming organizations
Research with aims that pertain to shelter or rehoming organization dogs, dog rehoming, or dog relinquishment other than those listed above will be considered
Research that causes harm, undo and prolonged stress, or negatively affects the welfare of dogs will not be considered
Proposals for funding that do not pertain to scientific research will not be considered (e.g. funding for the direct care of dogs at a shelter)
